The WmFlatFile package supports file polling using the Integration Server File Polling Port
and includes services for reading, parsing, and converting flat files using flat file schema.
A file polling port periodically polls a monitoring directory for the arrival of files.
The Integration Server then runs a file processing service against the file. For more

Flat files present complex hierarchical structural data in a record–based storage format.
To communicate using flat files, you must create a flat file schema that contains a particular flat file’s structural information, including how to identify records and separate those records into fields.
A flat file schema is a blueprint containing instructions for parsing or creating a flat file and it is created as a namespace element in the Integration Server. For more information, see on the Flat File Schema, see What is a Flat File Schema
