Adapter for Salesforce enables you to interact with Salesforce.com and Database.com. Salesforce.com is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution that is Software as a Service (SaaS), on-demand, and Web-based. Database.com is a cloud database managed by Salesforce.com.

Adapter Connections: Enables you to connect to Salesforce.com at design and runtime. You must configure an adapter connection before configuring adapter services.

Adapter Service Templates: Enables you to initiate and run Salesforce.com Web services to interact with Salesforce.com. The following adapter service templates are provided:

• Batch Operation: Performs the following operations against a batch of Salesforce object records:
  - Inserts new records
  - Updates records
  - Inserts and updates records
  - Deletes records
  - Queries to find records and return field values from matching records
• Create Operation: Inserts new records into one or multiple Salesforce objects.
• Custom Query Operation: Creates a query service that allows you to configure a dynamic Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) statement.
• Delete Operation: Deletes records from the data of the organization.
• Monitor Batch Operations: Monitors the status and displays the results of the batch operations run by the Batch Operation service.
• Query Operation: Runs a query against a Salesforce object to find matching records and return field values from those records.
• Retrieve Operation: Retrieves records of a Salesforce object and returns field values from those records.
• Update Operation: Updates records of one or multiple Salesforce objects.
• Upsert Operation: Inserts records into or updates records of a Salesforce object.
