2.0 Known Issues

1-RTJBL
When the MSMQ Adapter attempts to make a connection to the MSMQ Server and the MSMQ Server is down, the adapter throws an error message. This error also results in the user being temporarily unable to access the Connections page to edit connections.

To work around this issue, edit the connection’s parameters to set the Startup Retry Count parameter to 1, and set the Startup Backoff Timeout parameter to a shorter amount of time. In the event of connection errors, these changes make the system back off quickly and allow the user to work with connections as needed.

For other known issues and troubleshooting information relating to the webMethods MSMQ Adapter, see the Knowledge Base on the webMethods Advantage Web site.

3.0 Usage Notes

- If the MSMQ Adapter rolls back a message, the message will remain in the queue. The listener will retrieve it and pass it to the notification repeatedly, potentially resulting in an endless process.

To prevent the listener from processing the message repeatedly, edit the MaxTimeToReceive message property in the adapter services and set it to a specific number of seconds (the default time is infinite). Setting this property causes the listener to process the message for the specified number of seconds and then move the message into the transactional dead letter queue.

6.0 Globalization

The webMethods MSMQ Adapter conforms to the international standards of webMethods, which require: operation in any country, locale, or language configuration as listed in the webMethods Installation Guide; support for character encodings; and proper formatting, display, and validation of data (such as number and date formats). These features have been tested in this release and any known issues are listed below.

6.1 Localization and Certification

The webMethods MSMQ Adapter is provided with an English user interface, messages, and documentation. Language packs containing support for other languages, when available, can be installed at any time using the webMethods Installer. The webMethods MSMQ Adapter 6.0 supports simultaneous multi-locale operation.

The webMethods MSMQ Adapter was tested with non-ASCII data using various Unicode and non-Unicode encodings. It was tested in Far East Asian locales and is supported for operation in any locale provided by your operating environment. The tested environments included Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 set up for English and Japanese locales.

6.2 Configuration

If you expect to display non-English data in your webMethods tools, make sure an appropriate font is installed in your operating environment. If you see hollow boxes or black squares where you expect to see non-English data, modify your JRE font.properties file to reference an appropriate font. For information on modifying your font.properties file, go to Sun's Java website. For instructions, see:
